Convergys Announces Work At Home Virtual Call Center Jobs for Residents of UK

Convergys announced on Monday 09/21/09 that it will be expanding its work at home virtual call center agent jobs program to residents of the United Kingdom.

According to the press release the company has already begun the process of acquiring client companies to support the addition of home-based agents in the UK.

Commenting on the move, Brad Krinhop, vice president of operations for the global Home Agent Program said, “Our home agents in the UK will benefit from flexible scheduling, providing them with increased time to spend with their families. In addition, the elimination of a daily commute will allow them to save money on fuel, auto maintenance, parking, clothing, and meals. The program provides an ideal opportunity for students facing high tuition costs, stay-at-home parents needing a second income to help pay bills, or retirees who wish to augment their retirement savings.”

When implemented, the hiring process – from application through training and employment – will be unique because it can be completed from an individual’s home desktop, without ever visiting a Convergys facility. The only workplace requirements for candidates will be a quiet place to work inside their home, a PC that meets Convergys’ minimum standards, cable or DSL high-speed Internet access, and a noise-canceling headset.

Please note that there appears to be an emerging problem with deliverability to Yahoo email addresses. For some reason Yahoo has decided that our publication is spam. If you are a Yahoo user and have not received the latest edition of the newsletter by 10/16/08, please check your Spam mail folder, find the newsletter message, open it and click the "Not Spam" button. This will ensure you receive all future mailings in your Inbox.

There's also another new issue with regard to Yahoo email. For some reason, Yahoo is reformatting the messages, deleting all of the spaces between lines, headings, sections etc. The result is not pretty - everything is "scrunched" together. We'll work on trying to identify a way to work around this problem. Perhaps Yahoo will recognize it and correct it. The website was launched in 2001 by Tony Cochran, a direct marketing professional with a pioneering vision of the virtual call center industry and a firm belief in the home based call center agent business model.

The website was maintained but not actively developed, as Tony spent the next 6 years leading various other entrepreneurial pursuits.
